Hannover/Bielefeld – March 6, 2014 – Sponsored by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), itelligence AG participates in a research project under the name of: merging of electro mobility and renewable energy for smart commercial traffic in rural areas through information and communication technologies (ICT). To this end the itelligence AG presents the current state of research of a mobility management system based on SAP-technologies at the CeBIT in Hall 4, B04.
An ambitious goal was set by the municipality of Lippe, the University Ostwestfalen-Lippe, the Fraunhofer Application Centre Industrial Automation (IOSB-INA) in Lemgo, the Institute for Industrial Information Technology (inIT) as well as the Herbert Kannegießer plc, the Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. KG, the OWITA plc and the itelligence AG. These partners work and research together within the project: “Electromobility in Lippe” (EMiLippe).
In the near future an electromobile commercial traffic, supplied to a large extent with electricity from renewable energy sources, shall be established in Ostwestfalen-Lippe. This project will significantly support the goal set by the Federal Government, to have by 2020, one million registered “electric vehicles” (compare National Development Plan Electro Mobility, among others page 18 and pages 45-46). A specific trip planning and its optimization pose challenges for vehicle technology and infrastructure, especially in the rural areas. The partners will face these challenges in the framework of this research project.
The various interfaces between the vehicle, system and man requires a management system, that is able to process and analyze a huge amount of data in real-time. To analyze this huge amount of data itelligence uses among others, the new database technology SAP HANA.
Herbert Vogel, General Manager of itelligence AG, says: “With our development of an IT based, energy smart mobility and management system, we are able to contribute significantly towards the channeling and organizing of this enormous amount of data. Through the combination of intelligent and integrated IT systems resources, can be clearly saved.”
To manage the fleet and the flows of energy, a “control room” will be established for the companies. This control room on one hand registers and optimizes the various processes, and on the other hand serves to meet the energy and mobility requirements for the participating system partners. Through this network other conglomerates of companies or public institutions with different locations will utilize the overall system of commercial traffic in rural areas.
The research project EMiLippe has a term of three years. Approximately 40 % of this 4 Mio € project will be sponsored by the project manager VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik plc within the framework of the National Development Plan Electro Mobility. The project manager has been commissioned by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety. Friedel Heuwinkel, head of the administration of the Kreis Lippe, explains; “Under the direction and coordination of the economic development unit of the municipality of Lippe, the participating project partners will not only develop a technical infrastructure such as a smart charging station, on-board units for vehicles and an energy and mobility management system, but will also use these components conjointly. So for example it will be possible to charge electric vehicles from one company used for official journeys at charging stations at another company”.
This process will be controlled in such a manner, that on one hand renewable energy will be used, and on the other hand peak loads in companies be avoided. This intelligent solution has far-reaching impacts not only on the vehicle market but also on climate protection, the electrical industry and the energy sector. The different industrial branches of the automobile, electro and telecommunication sectors cooperate and form synergies and collaborative networks that allow the creation of innovative applications and business models.
