Catch the Digital Transformation in Textile

Launched in 2017, SAP S/4HANA for Fashion and Vertical Business solution provides great power to the retail and textile industry, especially in competition. When we look at the fashion and textile industry, we see that the sector is basically divided into three. One of them is basically the textile industry, which covers yarn, fabric, dye and printing processes. Another one is the fashion/garment industry, which covers the final product, the product processes that reach the end user. The last one is the retail sector, which covers merchandising processes. Accordingly, a road map is followed in the textile sector, covering all processes end-to-end with SAP’s S/4HANA product. We position the SAP Fashion and Vertical Solutions solution for our customers, which include the Fashion/Garment business line.

IoT technology can be easily configured on many scenarios in the textile industry. Some of these applications are as follows:

• A systematic and integrated tracking system with RFID technology in material inputs and outputs makes a huge difference for the management of all other processes. Thanks to the RFID tags placed on the pallets, the materials shipped can be easily tracked. Control and management of chemical materials kept in silos or tanks are integrated into the SAP system via external sensors and can be monitored in a systematic order.
  
• By following the materials and products stored on the shelves, stock status can be realized instantly with the same technology. Thus, more robust measures are taken at the level of critical materials with warning and precautionary practices.
  
• Quality control processes can be provided through RGB sensors or cameras. For example, the colors of the dyed fabrics can be checked, likewise, these checks can be made even when the dye is in the form of raw materials. It is also very important because the storage conditions can be followed for critical materials. For example, it can be checked whether conditions such as temperature, humidity and light are within limits for chemical materials.
