SAP consulting company itelligence: New white paper shows the advantages of Rapid Deployment Solutions

Shanghai, January 24, 2013 – An SAP implementation within a few weeks – years ago, that was still unthinkable. But with the new Rapid Deployment Solutions (SAP RDS), it is now becoming the rule, writes expert Christopher Thomson in a new white paper by itelligence AG, the leading full-service IT provider in the SAP environment.

Dr. Clemens Weis, Vice President, Managing Director Greater China, comments: “I am delighted that itelligence has been selected by SAP as RDS partner of the year in the fast growing Chinese market. As a result, it was clear to us to publish the white paper on RDS in China- with its detailed information – as one of the first counties worldwide. Thanks to the white paper, our customers can now decide much more quickly which system is right for them.”

Expert Christopher Thomson has overseen global RDS projects over the past months. His conclusion: The implementation time for SAP software can be reduced by 40% by means of supplied templates and standardized implementation. Fixed prices ensure that budgets are adhered to. Companies can also expand their RDS system step by step. This means that “big-bang projects” are now a thing of the past. Thomson illustrates this with three examples from the current total of more than 100 quick-start solutions from the Walldorf-based software group.

For organizing global supply chains, an RDS solution is available that allows companies to react immediately to any sudden changes in the demand or supply situation. In addition to the software, the complete package also includes all services relating to implementation. In this case, the go-live can take place within twelve weeks provided there is a supply planning system that provides CSV files.

Furthermore, it now takes only around 20 weeks for a customer-specific warehouse management system to be ready for rollout. With SAP RDS for Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), even smaller companies are able to map more complex warehousing processes and ensure a higher throughput of goods.

The third example shows how companies can integrate their subsidiaries into their financial management system in a record time of eight weeks – including all fundamental accounting, financial statement and reporting functions.

All-inclusive packages at fixed prices including all implementation services – for SAP, this type of software implementation is the future standard. According to itelligence expert Thomson, this benefits companies of all sizes: “The time-to-value is reduced and with the fixed-price offer companies have more reliability in their budget planning.”
