London, UK — February 29 2024 – SAP® Platinum Partner NTT DATA Business Solutions, has donated 146 iPhones to domestic abuse charity Safenet.
Safenet delivers support to victims and survivors across the North West of England, providing emergency accommodation for survivors and their families fleeing abuse. The phones have been distributed to all of the charity’s Refuge accommodation sites across the North West and used in a variety of ways to help support Domestic Abuse survivors in refuge or in the community.
Examples of how the phones are being used are as follows:
Case Study 1: A 12 year old female going to high school on her own. Needing to stay safe in the community and stay in touch with refuge and mum and was unable to afford a phone otherwise.
Case Study 2: A 21 year old female arrived in refuge with no means of digital access or communication having had to hand her phone into police due to being a victim of online stalking and harassment. The phone will help her connect with family and friends and improve her safety
Case Study 3: A 16 year old male in a safehouse. Broke his leg in sporting accident at college and needed to undertake college work at home/be in touch with college. Access to a phone has enabled him to do this as he didn’t already own one.

The ‘first of many’ donation was organised by the company’s Women’s Business Network (WBN) which aims to build a stronger, more innovative, and more inclusive organisation that is better equipped to serve our clients and communities. Safenet has kept over 20,000 women, men and children safe from further harm over the last 48 years, and we can be supporting 600 adults and 150 children throughout all of our services at any one time.
Safenet supports clients with all areas of need connected to their Domestic Abuse recovery journeys, including specialist Domestic Abuse (DA) group work and safety priorities, but also with physical and mental health needs, housing and resettlement, financial, budgeting and debt, parenting support, legal issues, immigration and social networks. Our Refuge accommodation locations are Burnley, Pendle, Preston, Lancaster, Bury, Oldham and Rochdale.
