Worldwide— 5th May 2023 — Leading SAP® Partner NTT DATA Business Solutions UK&I is proud to announce that its first-year sustainability initiative has resulted in the planting of 58,509 trees worldwide.
The ‘One Day One Tree’ project sees the company plant one tree for every Consulting and SAP Managed Services day the company delivers each quarter. Employees vote for the project where they would like to see the trees planted, and so far the initiative has supported restoration projects in Central America, India and Sri Lanka via partner company One Tree Planted.
The company’s Q4 tree donation of over 16,000 trees is the biggest quarterly donation yet and the trees will be planted in the UK, contributing to the Essex Forest Initiative which is supporting the creation of wet woodland (a UK priority habitat) on river floodplains, habitat creation and connectivity across agricultural land as well as parkland creation.
The initiative in Essex not only supports global reforestation efforts but also invites educational opportunities by engaging local schools and creates publicly accessible woodlands for community spaces as well as increasing forest connectivity for native biodiversity.
