Transforming BI at Edinburgh University with SAP BusinessObjects

My name is Andrew McFarlane and I am an ITIL and SAP certified Service Manager at Edinburgh University, responsible for the “Reporting + Analytics” service. I have over 5 years’ experience of managing all aspects of SAP BusinessObjects.I will be presenting an afternoon session at #itelli2018 revealing how the University’s BI service is undergoing a major transformation over the next 3 years.

Join me and learn about our exciting roadmap and discover how we are sculpting a new BI landscape through core systems, data warehousing, and BI tools initiatives. I will then take a deep dive into the University’s long-standing use of SAP BusinessObjects: detailing the challenges of the current provision and showcasing why BusinessObjects remains central to the delivery of the new BI service.

I will be revealing how the University is now starting to think of itself as an enterprise, and as such how we are positioning and preparing ourselves as an organisation to meet the challenge of making the University ready for the digital age, enabling us to compete in the digital marketplace.
