Taku Kawaai

Executive Vice President, Head of Global Collaboration and Sales and Head of APAC Region

Taku Kawaai holds Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Literature from Waseda University in Japan and a Master’s in Business Administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA with a focus on international business and innovation. Before joining NTT DATA Business Solutions, he was Business Integration Manager at NTT DATA Global Headquarters in Japan. He has developed sales and business consulting expertise in previous NTT DATA Group assignments. 

Taku joined NTT DATA Business Solutions AG (back then itelligence AG) in 2013 as Principal Manager in the Headquarters in Germany where he led business development by multiple M&As directly under CFO, and expanded organic business primarily in the European market.  From 2016, he worked for NTT DATA Business Solutions Group in Malaysia and APAC as regional COO. He has been responsible for driving the APAC market and business growth and coordinated business activities in the region. He has also been leading all the operations ranging from sales to corporate services in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and China plus the partnership in Vietnam. 

Since July 2021, Taku Kawaai is in charge of Global Strategic Collaboration and part of our Global Leadership Team. He drives mid-term journey for evolution and transformation of NTT DATA Business Solutions with strategy support, communications, and executions in line with NTT DATA global direction and leveraging group network and assets.  He is also heading the Japanese Multi-national Large Enterprises business in the organization and supporting their global and cross-border IT strategies and projects.   

Since April 2023 he is also leading Global Sales Operations to facilitate, standardize, and synergize the sales activities for 30+ countries of NTT DATA Business Solutions Group. As of mid-November 2024, he is also Head of APAC Region, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Australia.
