Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability

At NTT DATA Business Solutions, we strive to be sustainable by leveraging technology, data and processes to accelerate sustainable value creation.

Sustainability and corporate social responsibility are pillars of our work.

We seek to create sustainable results on four levels

  • NTT DATA Business Solutions is a 100% owned subsidiary company of NTT DATA, part of the NTT Group. This means that our headquarters engages globally in a number of sustainability-related commitments and issues policies and guidelines on sustainability, which also apply to the work of NTT DATA Business Solutions and NTT DATA Business Solutions Nordic.
  • As an IT service provider and consultancy, NTT DATA Business Solutions’ most important impact on sustainability is created externally through the solutions we develop with and for our customers. As a supplier of ERP solutions, we have many large production and logistics companies as customers, and these have significant CO2 emissions and other footprints – and often also ambitious goals to become more sustainable. Through the wide range of technologies we master, we can help customers improve sustainability in their supply chain in connection with transport, storage, production, planning and reporting, among other things.
  • At NTT DATA Business Solutions Nordic, we focus internally on making the sustainable choice when we are faced with one or more alternatives. This applies to all our activities – general transport, safe reuse of hardware, how we hold events, supply our buildings and data centers with power, etc.
  • At NTT DATA Business Solutions Nordic, we also focus on enabling our employees to engage in sustainable activities. This is largely driven by the employees themselves, but supported by the company when relevant.

We support the Norwegian Children's Cancer Association

The Children’s Cancer Association exists to help children and young people with cancer and their families. You can also support the Children’s Cancer Association here.

We are Environmental Lighthouse certified

We are incredibly proud to be Environmental Lighthouse certified. As an approved Environmental Lighthouse company, we have taken important steps on the road to a sustainable future. Now we have visible proof that we take responsibility, and a concrete tool to work continuously with environmental improvements and green transformation.

How we develop sustainable and innovative solutions

Børns Vilkår – Children’s Welfare in Denmark

Being able to guide children through life’s difficulties is both a privilege and a challenge. Børns Vilkår, a Danish child protection hotline, understands this better than most. To help their counselors focus on the dialogue with the children, we have developed an AI-based «ethical counseling agent» that will assist them in their conversations.

Children’s welfare charities are implementing new technologies to help them in their important work.

Smart Island Rømø – we create a greener future

The Smart Island Rømø project team has developed a platform for sustainable public spaces and infrastructures – ethical, intelligent and with great local and environmental impact. Traffic safety is increased and the CO2 footprint is reduced through the use of anonymized data. Among other things, the project has clarified new methods for reducing waste production, and set the standard for greener and better planning.

Smart Island Rømø is part of a project bringing modern, sustainable ecosystems closer to reality.

Giant hogweed – combating unwanted plant species

Giant hogweed is a harmful, highly toxic and invasive species and efforts are being made to combat it throughout Europe. With the help of drones, SAP solutions and Big Data, a technical cloud solution can, with impressive precision, identify the species in the wild. In 2019, we won a SAP Innovation Award in the category ‘Best Process Innovator’ for this project, and this project can contribute to us being closer to the goal of combating the plant.

Our workplaces have diversity
