Lünendonk List 2021: NTT DATA and NTT DATA Business Solutions have asserted themselves as leading IT service providers during the Covid year.
NTT DATA, a global market leader in digital business and IT services, and NTT DATA Business Solutions, one of the largest SAP partners worldwide, have retained their 5th place on the “Lünendonk List 2021”, replicating their achievement in the previous two years. During 2020, sales in Germany rose to 840 million euros from the previous year’s 800 million euros. This corresponds to a growth of five percent. The figures comprise the sales of NTT DATA Deutschland GmbH and NTT DATA Business Solutions AG (formerly itelligence AG).
As expected by Lünendonk & Hossenfelder, general demand for IT services did not suffer a slump during the coronavirus year of 2020, although it did drop below the previous year’s level. In 2020, the 83 analyzed IT service providers increased their sales in Germany by 2.7 percent to a total volume of 25 billion euros (2019: 24.3 billion euros). Back in 2019, growth had stood at 3.3 percent.
Mario Zillmann, analyst and partner at Lünendonk & Hossenfelder, had this to say about the development: “The digitalization surge starting with the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic has generated many orders pertaining to the development and implementation of digital and data-based business models, IT modernization as well the migration of IT applications into the cloud. Above all, companies invested massively in setting up online sales channels in order to compensate for the loss of physical sales channels; some IT service providers were able to benefit particularly strongly from this.”
