Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability

At NTT DATA Business Solutions, we strive to be sustainable by leveraging technology, data and processes to accelerate sustainable value creation.

Sustainability and corporate social responsibility are important parts of our work.

We seek to create sustainable results on four levels

NTT DATA Business Solutions is a 100% owned subsidiary company of NTT DATA, part of the NTT Group. This means that our headquarters engages globally in a number of sustainability-related commitments and issues policies and guidelines on sustainability, which also apply to the work of NTT DATA Business Solutions and NTT DATA Business Solutions Nordic.
As an IT service provider and consultancy, NTT DATA Business Solutions’ most important impact on sustainability is created externally through the solutions we develop with and for our customers. As a supplier of ERP solutions, we have many large production and logistics companies as customers, and these have significant CO2 emissions and other footprints – and often also ambitious goals to become more sustainable. Through the wide range of technologies we master, we can help customers improve sustainability in their supply chain in connection with transport, storage, production, planning and reporting, among other things.
At NTT DATA Business Solutions Nordic, we focus internally on making the sustainable choice when we are faced with one or more alternatives. This applies to all our activities – general transport, safe reuse of hardware, how we hold events, supply our buildings and data centers with power, etc.
At NTT DATA Business Solutions Nordic, we also focus on enabling our employees to engage in sustainable activities. This is largely driven by the employees themselves, but supported by the company when relevant.

Sustainable efforts in the Nordic region

At NTT DATA Business Solutions, we are committed to always making the sustainable choice whenever possible. This involves efforts in three main areas:

Enabling and supporting green mobility. This involves ensuring that charging stations for electric cars are established at our two head offices; to encourage carpooling and public transport options; to purchase electric cars as company cars when possible and to promote leasing schemes for electric cars; to explore remote work offices to reduce the need for commuting and hold virtual meetings when possible.
Sustainable purchasing and consumption. Reusing hardware internally and ensuring that hardware is passed on to new users when we replace it; assessing the sustainability of hardware suppliers; development of a sustainable event concept; optional and more sustainable corporate gifts and apparel; encouraging our staff to investigate more sustainable pension fund portfolios.
Green energy supply. Our two head offices already run on renewable energy, and we are in the process of ensuring that our data centers also run on renewable energy, and we are promoting energy-efficient IT solutions.

Our workplaces have diversity

No one should be excluded from a workplace based on something as intrinsic as their identity or background. We encourage the sharing of ideas and worldviews, and we commend those who ensure that our workplaces are accessible to every individual. And should we see an unconscious bias in employment decisions or other unfair work practices, it is our duty to speak out and change them.

Caring for Employees’ Welfare

For us, the well-being of our employees is a top priority when we design our workplaces. We have the responsibility to support our employees with well-equipped offices, inclusive events and fun activities, so that they can be the best version of themselves, both at work and in life. By promoting healthy lifestyles in several of our global offices, we also ensure that our employees can continue to be fit and healthy.

We help the Ukrainian people

NTT Group supports the population and refugees from Ukraine with 2.5 million US dollars in donations to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Children’s Fund UNICEF and other aid organizations involved in the establishment of reception centers, distribution of emergency supplies and psychological treatment of children.

In addition, NTT offers free long-distance calls to Ukraine and coordinates donations from customers to support humanitarian crisis management.

NTT DATA Business Solutions has carried out a materiality analysis of the company’s overall activities. The analysis has included the activities the company carries out directly in Denmark or through subsidiaries in Finland, Norway and Sweden. Our business model can be illustrated as seen here on the right. Concrete analysis and conclusions appear in our annual accounts.
