NTT DATA Business Solutions strengthens the business with new Head of Advisory Services
This August, we welcomed Patrik Ekström as our new Head of Advisory Services, Nordic Region. Not only does he bring extensive experience in working with technology leadership and advisory for leading enterprises and public authorities across the Nordic region, but he also brings a customer-focused mind-set and great dedication towards helping others understand the added value of technology.
Before joining NTT DATA Business Solutions, Patrik has, among other employers, worked 20 years for Accenture, and as Vice President, Technology Services for TietoEvry in Finland. Most recently, he comes from a role as VP, Executive Partner for Gartner where he has advised C level-clients on utilizing technology for the last 5 years.
Patrik has a genuine interest in bringing IT closer to strategy and to take advantage of the latest technology, such as for example Generative AI. When it comes to his new role, his wish is to create long-term relationships with both existing and new customers.
When asked about the importance of IT advisory services, he says:
“Unfortunately, many organizations have a hard time to understand the value of technology investments and see the IT department as responsible for the projects. And in most cases, organizations are rather unsatisfied as all demands cannot be fulfilled. Improving strategic business capabilities often include technology investments and it is important to understand the strategy, and to be able to communicate the technology contribution and prioritize correctly. The relationship between the business unit and the IT department is changing, and the overall value of technology can be increased if we get the collaboration right.”
Patrik Ekström lives in Helsinki, Finland. And when he’s not dedicating his time to advising customers and top management, he spends time on the football arena, volunteering for a local football club that strives to make a significant social impact in the local community in the northern part of the city.
