ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih is the largest steel mining and smelting company in the Ukraine: it encompasses the iron ore mine, coke- and byproducts system, a mining and processing complex, and a smelting complex consisting of a sinter plant, blast furnaces, and steel- and rolling process divisions.
The subsidiary of Luxembourg’s ArcelorMittal Group employs 34,000 workers. ArcelorMittal Group provides jobs to a total of 280,000 people in over twenty European, Asian, African and American countries.

About the Project

NTT DATA Business Solutions was awarded the contract for this project – thus began, in April 2012, a rapid and targeted migration period. In just three months the entire transfer of the systems to the NTT DATA Business Solutions data center in Poznan took place; for the final migration, only 24 hours remained. One ERP 3-System Landscape, one BW 3-System Landscape and one Solution Manager with, in all, more than two Terabytes of data were successfully migrated.

In its operation of the system, the data center in Poznan uses not only the most modern AIX infrastructure. It is also part of a redundant MPLS structure with a link directly to the global ArcelorMittal backbone. Thus it is assured at all times that is available with optimal performance access. And through the direct integration of the data center to the AcelorMittal WAN, the answer times of applications are accelerated measurably.
