The JAB JOSEF ANSTOETZ KG family-run company has been synonymous with tradition and stylish, high-quality interior design for more than 70 years. Over the years, the company has positioned and established itself internationally from its headquarters in Bielefeld with an extensive range.

They have developed a broad product and service base, and consistently provides prospective customers in more than 80 countries with the latest trends in textiles, furniture, flooring and sun protection. The company is protective of its traditions and values, and at the same time adopts an up-to-date and innovative approach to ensure long-term success.

Overcoming Obstacles and Making Use of Opportunities

To keep on developing in a future-oriented way, JAB ANSTOETZ decided to replace its existing customized solution for the use of SAP data on mobile devices. This was obsolete and no longer maintainable.

As a successor, the customer opted for an SAP standard solution and consequently chose to set up a cloud infrastructure. An actual/target analysis of the existing customer systems was performed by NTT DATA Business Solutions. Based on these results, it was possible to design a target architecture and the hybrid cloud landscape was set up on this basis. The resulting challenge of connecting this new cloud world with the existing on-premises system landscape was successfully mastered.

The Latest Principles for Exclusive Design

Through the new hybrid landscape, it is now possible for JAB ANSTOETZ to use the cloud and develop new applications. The SAP Cloud Platform was set up as a technological basis for this. It can now be used to implement customer-specific extensions of cloud and on-premises solutions.

With SAP Fiori, platform-independent development and app use on multiple devices are also possible thanks to responsive design. NTT DATA Business Solutions subsequently supported the development of four Fiori applications: creation of sales call reports, optimization of the order process, display of product information, and analysis functions for data retrieval and representation. All four applications are available in German, English, French and Spanish. This way, the new solutions can also be rolled out to other locations worldwide.

Self-Designed Creations Now Also in IT

To make JAB ANSTOETZ “cloud-secure” and independent for the future, NTT DATA Business Solutions held training on cloud use and development. The training covered the bases of cloud, SAP Fiori and SAP UI5 in extensive detail. The goal was not only to broaden the customer’s expertise, but, above all, to enable the independent development of apps.

The family-run company immediately proved its high level of motivation and passion. Because JAB ANSTOETZ was able to directly apply its new knowledge and has developed its first extension to a Fiori app. Consequently, there are no longer any barriers for the company when it comes to the development of innovative and progressive solutions.
