We Support the Next Generation in their Career Orientation

We want to support the next generation in their future career choices by showing young people the great and diverse job opportunities within our industry. One example is our annual participation in Girls’ and Boys’ Day, where we offer interested pupils in school classes insights into technical professions. We deliberately focus on professions in which women tend to be underrepresented and familiarize their fellow male classmates with apprenticeships in business administration and office management.

We Are Strengthening the Digital Competence of Young People

As part of SAP’s Hacker School @yourschool+ initiative, we offer young people the opportunity to gain computer programming experience while still at school, filling a gap in the education system. Socio-economically disadvantaged young people in particular lack computer and information-related skills, which the project aims to promote. This not only combats social inequality, but also addresses the problem of a lack of skilled workers in the IT sector.

We Are Helping the Ukrainian People

The NTT Group supports the population and refugees from Ukraine with 2.5 million US dollars in donations to the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the Children’s Fund UNICEF and other aid organizations involved in setting up reception centers, distributing relief supplies and providing psychological care for children.

In addition, NTT offers free long-distance calls to the Ukraine and coordinates donations from clients to provide support for humanitarian crisis management.

Ummeed Initiative – Community Involvement in India

Getting girls into school, promoting road safety, aiding victims of natural disasters, planting trees, supporting institutes for disabled children, and donating blood – impressive feats in anyone’s book. NTT DATA Business Solutions in India are to be applauded for their commitment to CSR, with many of their employees volunteering across an inspiring spectrum of projects from the Umeed initiative.

Standing Up for a Fairer Future in Turkey

In Turkey, the selfless work of our employees has helped people and animals living through unimaginable struggles, from families experiencing domestic violence and poverty-stricken conditions to animals rescued from the street. Equally helpful and rewarding tasks include teaching robotics and coding in schools, all to mould the next generation of innovators.

We Are Fully Committed to Environmentally Friendly Workflows

All our decisions are focused on our sustainability goals. This means not only that we replace carbon-intensive travel with digital meetings, but also that we maintain and operate our German offices and data centers with more than 11,700 servers exclusively with electricity from sustainable sources such as biogas, hydropower, geothermal, wind or solar energy. To this end, we also use 1,000 square meters of space at our headquarters in Bielefeld for a photovoltaic system that produces more than 155,000 kilowatt hours of green electricity per year and eliminates and saves more than 100 tons of harmful CO2.

We Are Switching to E-Mobility

Our 1st plug-in hybrid company car was already delivered in summer 2020. Since then, interest among employees has increased extremely and we currently have ¾ plug-in hybrid or electronically powered vehicles among the orders.

The aim is to reduce CO2 emissions and other pollutants emitted during vehicle operation. This is also anchored in corporate social responsibility. For example, currently 18 new charging facilities are being built at the Bielefeld site and even more planned at other sites. This new infrastructure offers employees the opportunity to charge both their company and private vehicles with green energy at our sites.
