Europe’s Role in the Global Economy: Insights from Roland Berger

Bielefeld, August 15, 2013 – What role does Europe play in the global economy? What will be the related developments in the next years? What is the outlook regarding success factors which can help secure long-term gains on national and international markets? Answers to these questions will be offered by Prof. Dr. h. c. Roland Berger, founder and Honorary Chairman of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, at the Management Forum Wachstum 2020 (“Growth 2020”) presented by itelligence AG on September 12th in Bielefeld. With a view to the Bundestag election the question arises: what course will be set in the political sphere?

Europe – often underestimated – is in a process of transformation. Unlike the old and new superpowers USA and China, Europa today is mentioned too rarely as a central player in the 21st Century. However, German companies in particular demonstrate that innovation and internationalization are mutually reinforcing ingredients in growth strategies. In addition to Prof. Berger, representatives of firms from various industries will show their approaches to successful growth – for the period beyond 2020 as well.

Markus Schaumburg, General Manager of GEDIA Gebrüder Dingerkus GmbH, will speak on “Innovation, Technology and Globalization as Growth Motors of the Automotive Supply Industry”.

The subject “Expansion in the Customer’s Wake” will be illuminated by Christian-Hans Bültemeier, Commercial Director, HANSA-FLEX AG.

The building blocks of innovation “From the Sensor into SAP” are the subject of the presentation by Dr. Thomas May, General Manager, ifm electronic gmbh. As General Manager for Innovation Management in Medium Sized Business he will report on the new, already visible examples of integration and automation under the rubric of industry 4.0.

Dr. Birgit Wittenbreder, Management Direction for DACH, itelligence AG, will address the topic of growth with her presentation “Growth Means Transformation to Concentrated Markets”.

Admission is free, but due to the limited number of seats, the company requests that those who wish to attend should register on the internet page www.itelligence.de/events.
