Bielefeld/Stuttgart – At the LogiMAT trade show in Stuttgart (April 25–27, 2023), NTT DATA Business Solutions AG will show how logistics can be efficiently digitalized with the “loopa” tracking module, allowing applications ranging from indoor Bluetooth-based materials tracking to efficient product packaging and shipment. At booth 8B60, building 8, the leading global SAP© consulting firm will present high-tech solutions for sustainable logistics in which software, hardware and consulting expertise are brought together in innovative scenarios with end-to-end automation.
Developed in collaboration with equipment manufacturer Scheidt & Bachmann, the loopa indoor logistics module is one of the highlights being shown by NTT DATA Business Solutions. This high-tech solution makes it possible to track the position of items, containers, or loading equipment in a factory building in real time. The position information for loopa comes from Bluetooth beacons, and status changes are automatically registered in the associated SAP system. In the latest release, an LED lamp was added to the beacon housing. The blinking of the LED makes it easier to locate containers or other objects in a warehouse.
The close integration of loopa in SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA means that companies can fully automate logistics processes. Standardized modules make it easier to implement particular processes, such as a kanban workflow. In production and other areas, loopa can be used to create a digital twin, allowing for tracking and automatic posting to the SAP system. “In addition to providing automation and saving a large amount of time, loopa supports employees in all warehouse- and logistics-related matters,” says Oliver Schöps, Head of Solution Sales – Customer Engagement at NTT DATA Business Solutions. “Well-trained specialists are urgently needed in the logistics industry. Thanks to loopa, companies can quickly train new employees who don’t have years of experience. We minimize errors during manual scanning or manual input, automate reorders for production and enable more precise planning.”
In addition to loopa, NTT DATA Business Solutions will present an end-to-end process from warehouse to shipment at its trade show booth. Visitors can learn all about supply chain execution at a comprehensively interconnected showcase devoted to the solutions SAP Extended Warehouse Management and SAP Transportation Management in combination with the in-house SAP add-ons it.x-press (shipment solution), it.x-packIT (packaging table solution) and it.x-atlas (external trade solution). The showcases presented at the trade fair are based on scenarios that are currently in use at customers of NTT DATA Business Solutions. One example of this is the kanban process that has been fully automated with loopa. That is currently being used by equipment maker Scheidt & Bachmann in its production facility. Solution provider Scheidt & Bachmann IoT Solutions and NTT DATA Business Solutions AG developed the off-the-shelf solution loopa and made it ready for the market in the context of a joint venture.
