With more than 22 sites in 20 countries, DENIOS is an expert in the handling and storage of hazardous materials. The products for work safety and industry requirements are widely used by many customers from industry, trade, retail, research and education. Thanks to its innovative prowess, which the company drives forward in the development and manufacture of its products, safe processes in product development are essential to the company’s success. DENIOS AG decided to optimize its processes in product development and has found a strong partner in NTT DATA Business Solutions AG, which combines tailored solutions and high-level expertise for maximum project success.

From old (system) to new!

The existing legacy system was characterized by two different, incompatible CAD systems and a separate system tray for CAD models and drawings. Various systems were also used for product data management. Users manually created and maintained the material master data, which was very time-consuming. One objective of the project was to significantly improve the processes in product development via central data collection and a higher quality of specially designed spatial systems.

Making data and processes safe

With the introduction of SAP Engineering Control Center (SAP ECTR), SAP Visual Enterprise Generator and NTT DATA Business Solutions’ AddOn solution it.mds*, solutions were implemented that perfectly cover the requirements of DENIOS AG. The solution it.mds* is launched directly by SAP ECTR via an interface in the construction process, generating a workflow and the rule-based creation of master data. This leads to a higher quality of master data, as defined processes are implemented by all departments. The uniform management of 3D CAD models and drawings in SAP is now also ensured. At the same time, far-reaching authorizations provide high process reliability. The status-based control of access authorization and integrative change management present distinct added value for DENIOS and daily work processes.

On the Safe Side with the New Solution

At the same time, work processes and process steps in the company are more efficient, as the clear document information requires fewer queries from production and assembly. The consistent use and coupling of all systems ensures a satisfactory process flow. The global sites in the Czech Republic, France, and England will also benefit from this soon, where the rollout of SAP ECTR is planned for 2019, in cooperation with NTT DATA Business Solutions.
